An educational museum dedicated to the sciences, National Science Center's Fort Discovery is focused on giving children a fun way to explore the world in which they live. Covering topics from robotics and space travel to motion and power generation, the museum entertains visitors with areas like the 22-foot-tall space-themed climbing and play area, a functioning human gyro and many electronics exploration stations. Overlooking the Savannah River and the South Carolina state border, the museum is in Augusta's downtown area, near the Morris Museum of Art and the Augusta Museum of History.
Open Mon. - Sat. 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Sun. noon - 5:00 p.m.
Adults $8; Seniors (55+) and Children (4-17) $6; Children under 4 are free.
